Ta-na: Keep it as a keepsake closes at BACC on 11 October 2026. Presented by Greenpeace Thailand, the photography exhibition shares images made by the Indigenous Moken community of Phayam Island in Ranong.
The project focuses on ways of life closely connected to the Andaman Sea.
A community's view of its own life
The organiser frames the exhibition around cultural continuity under pressures associated with economic change and the climate crisis. The photographs offer an opportunity to encounter the community's perspective within a Bangkok art setting.
Pay attention to the relationship between photographer and subject. An image made from within a community can ask different questions from one produced by a visitor. Read any accompanying captions and avoid assuming that a single image stands for every person's experience.
With only the closing weekend remaining, this is a time-sensitive addition to a BACC visit.
