Song of the Brush: Chinese and Thai Painting in Dialogue at BACC

Song of the Brush brings Chinese and Thai painting into conversation at BACC from 20 October to 1 November 2026. Presented by Shinawatra University, the exhibition includes Thai painters, Chinese artists and Chinese art students studying in Thailand.

Its aim is exchange through painting rather than a simple division into two national styles.

Following the painter's decisions

The organisers frame brushwork as a shared language through which different artistic backgrounds can meet. The exhibition invites attention to both cultural reference and individual expression.

Try comparing works through one formal question: where does a line become a shape, or how does a painted mark guide the eye? This can open a conversation between pictures without assuming that every artist represents an entire culture. Return to the labels afterwards to connect what you notice with each work's context.

The curved-wall setting makes the presentation an easy addition to a wider BACC visit.
