SUDO RUNGU: Echoes of Fire brings Roby Dwi Antono's first solo exhibition in Thailand to MOCA Bangkok from 27 October 2026 to 3 January 2027. Curated by Loredana Pazzini Paracciani, it explores sound, memory and loss through a personal family history.
The starting point is the artist's memory of his father working as a blacksmith, and the gradual decline of his father's hearing.
What remains when a sound disappears?
Paintings, drawings, photographs, video and participatory work revisit the sensory world of the forge. Personal recollection meets the labour and cultural practices through which memories are formed.
Rather than looking only for an illustration of the artist's biography, consider how each medium holds a different kind of trace. A painted image and a recorded sound do not remember in the same way. Moving between them can make the exhibition's central question more tangible.
The opening is scheduled for 26 October at 17:00; the public run begins the following day.
