Woven Echoes: Bowie Lee at BACC People's Gallery

Woven Echoes: From Roots to Routes presents Bowie Lee's exploration of journeys at BACC from 6 October to 1 November 2026. The exhibition considers travel as a gathering of relationships and memories, not only movement through places.

Experiences before and after the pandemic provide a context for thinking about where identity takes shape.

A route made from encounters

The artist's approach connects research, creative process and engagement with the cultural landscape. The exhibition asks visitors to reflect on the spaces they inhabit and the experiences that change their relationship to them.

Bring one remembered journey to mind while looking, but leave room for the work to lead elsewhere. What makes a place significant: its appearance, a meeting, an interruption or the feeling of returning? Such questions offer a personal point of entry without assuming the artist's experience is the same as your own.

The show sits alongside two other October presentations in People's Gallery.
