Beliefs Are Transformed: Tanakrit Polngam at Seacon Square

Beliefs Are Transformed brings Tanakrit Polngam's sculpture to the BACC pop-up at Seacon Square Srinakarin from 17 October to 29 November. The exhibition considers how different spiritual traditions meet, change and persist in contemporary life.

Human, animal, mythical and sacred forms are taken apart and recombined into new figures.

Sculpture between recognition and uncertainty

The works sit within wooden boxes that can suggest shrines, cabinets or ordinary storage. As these containers accumulate, they invite comparisons between private memory, everyday objects and the spaces through which beliefs are organised.

Begin with the moment of recognition: a form seems familiar, then another detail unsettles that identification. The exhibition's interest lies in that movement between knowing and imagining. It offers an opportunity to consider how meaning depends not only on an object but also on the way it is housed and displayed.

This presentation belongs to BACC's off-site programme at MMAD.
