The Creative Ward: Graphic Design at BACC

The Creative Ward opens at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from 27 October to 1 November 2026. Presented by Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, the exhibition turns a medical-department metaphor into a way of exploring graphic design.

Its designers approach communication problems as cases to investigate, moving from an initial question through analysis and experimentation to a proposed solution.

Four departments of creative thinking

The programme divides its presentation into four areas: Heart Ward for identity, Eye Ward for visual work, Bone Ward for objects and Skin Ward for experience. Together, they frame design as something that operates across different encounters rather than remaining on a flat surface.

When visiting, try reading each project backwards from its final form. What problem does it appear to address? Who is meant to use or understand it? Then compare that first impression with the explanation of the designer's process. The gap can be a useful way to think about whether a visual decision communicates what it intends.

The exhibition is a practical option for visitors interested in design education, branding, objects and the relationship between an idea and its public presentation.
