Julie Stephen Chheng's Fortune Teller turns a visit to One Bangkok into an encounter with imagined nature spirits. Presented with Alliance Française Bangkok, the interactive exhibition runs from 2 October to 15 November 2026.
The main display is on the second floor of The Storeys, with an augmented-reality experience extending into other parts of the development.
Looking through a different set of eyes
The project combines responsive projections with characters that can be activated through the Fortune Teller AR app. Its eye-like spirits are associated with elemental forces, inviting visitors to consider their relationship with the environment through illustration and play. A book corner and creative workshops form part of the announced wider programme.
Give yourself time to look without a phone as well as with it. Comparing the physical setting with its animated layer can make the artistic choices more visible: what has been added, what has been emphasised, and what changes when an ordinary place seems to look back at you?
The title is an imaginative framework, not a promise to predict the future. The experience is about interpreting images and making personal connections.
